Male healthcare professional seated in the Modern Medical clinic

Dr. Wade Walters is excited to serve as the Clinic Physician at Modern Medical. Dr. Walters provides physician oversight, clinical guidance, and medical consultation supporting safe, evidence-informed patient care and escalation when clinically indicated. With a patient-first approach and a heart for healing, he is excited to help individuals regain their balance and thrive.

Dr Walters graduated from the University of Calgary School of Medicine and completed a two-year family medicine residency, but it was during his elective rotations that he discovered his passion for hormone replacement therapy. After seeing firsthand how hormone optimization could dramatically improve his patients’ overall quality of life, he knew he wanted to make it a cornerstone of his practice.

In his current role as a palliative care physician in Lethbridge, Dr. Walters has the privilege of working with patients and their families who are navigating life-limiting illnesses, a role he finds both deeply humbling and rewarding. This experience, coupled with his previous professional background in teaching and chaplaincy, has made him acutely aware of the importance of listening, compassion, and creating a sense of peace in the midst of suffering.

He believes that hormone replacement therapy offers an incredible opportunity to alleviate suffering and help people live more fulfilling lives— and he is thrilled to be part of a team that’s dedicated to building a health-focused community where patients are supported as they work toward optimal health and wellness.

When he’s not working, Dr. Walters enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Amber, and their seven children. Family is at the heart of everything he does.
